Terms & Conditions

LAST UPDATED 12 SEPTEMBER 2026

These terms cover using the Bite app. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't, don't use Bite.

01

What Bite does

Bite is a calorie and nutrition tracker. You describe a meal by voice or add foods by hand, and Bite logs the calories, protein, carbs and fat to your diary. It keeps your history so you can look back, edit and correct it.

02

Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. You need to be at least 13 to use Bite, and the account is yours to keep secure — anything logged through it is treated as yours. Keep your profile details accurate if you want your targets to mean anything.

03

Logging meals

Voice logging needs microphone access, which you grant on your device and can withdraw at any time. Recordings are processed and then deleted; the transcript stays with the meal. Manual search and logging work without the microphone. Foods you contribute to the shared database are reviewed before they count, and you grant Bite the right to include them in the database for everyone.

04

Accuracy, estimates and what they are not

Bite matches foods against nutrition data where it can and estimates from your description where it can't, labelling those foods as estimated. Speech recognition, food recognition, portion sizes and nutrition figures can all be wrong. Treat everything Bite shows as an approximation and check the portion when it matters to you.

Bite is informational. It is not medical, dietary or health advice, and it is not a diagnosis or a treatment. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your health, and don't rely on Bite if you have a medical condition or an eating disorder.

05

Free access and Bite Pro

Bite is free to use with a daily cap on voice logging. Bite Pro is a paid subscription that removes the cap and adds food swaps and alternatives. Prices and terms are shown in the app before you buy.

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple or Google account and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — that is also where you manage or change a plan. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the current period runs out. Refunds follow Apple's and Google's own policies, since they take the payment. Features included in Pro may change over time.

06

Using Bite sensibly

Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, don't use it to submit false food data, and don't use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.

07

Your data and your content

Your meals and profile belong to you. What Bite stores and for how long is set out in thePrivacy Policy, which is part of these terms. You can delete your account and its data from Profile in the app, or by emailingsupport@heybite.app. Foods you added to the shared database stay in it, without your account attached.

08

Intellectual property

The Bite app, its name, design and software are ours. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app; you don't get to copy, resell or build a competing service out of it.

09

Availability and liability

Bite is provided as it is. We work to keep it running, but it can be interrupted, changed or discontinued, and parts of it depend on services we don't control. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on nutrition figures shown in the app. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited.

10

Changes

The app changes as it improves, and these terms may change with it. The date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use Bite after that means you accept the new terms.
